Voter Engagement
For the past fifteen years, Worker Power has conducted the largest voter engagement campaigns in Arizona, and in 2020, we expanded our operations to other areas of the country. In 2022 alone, Worker Power canvassers and organizers knocked on over 1,000,000 doors and made tens of thousands of phone calls to Arizona, Georgia, and Orange County, California voters.
In Arizona, we contributed the winning margin of victory for Democratic candidates in Arizona’s U.S. Senate, Governor, Secretary of State, and Attorney General races. In addition, we were the primary field operation that elected two Democratic state legislators in lean-Republican districts. Finally, we contributed to defeating two voter-suppression Propositions - 128 and 309 - referred to the ballot by conservatives in the Arizona Legislature.
In Georgia, we knocked on 300,000 doors and helped re-elect Senator Rafael Warnock in the U.S. Senate runoff election. In Orange County, California, we joined a team of workers from Disneyland hotels. As a result, we helped elect two community allies as Mayor and a City Council Member in Anaheim, a city whose government had previously been embroiled in corruption scandals involving hospitality industry corporations.
This year, Worker Power will build on our previous electoral work to conduct the most expansive voter engagement program in our organization’s history for the 2024 U.S. Presidential elections.
